Your Greatest Gift

Traditionally New Year is a time when we all make choices. We resolve to be healthier / wealthier / less stressed / more successful and we codify those decisions in New Year Resolutions and for most of us it doesn’t go much further than that.

Stephen Covey once said, “Next to life itself, the power to choose is your greatest gift” and the opportunity to choose doesn’t come once a year with the Hootenanny and the chimes of Big Ben.

With every minute of every day, we get to choose. We get to choose our attitude, our application levels, our learning agenda, our success levels. Sometimes people might argue that they aren’t conscious choices, which may have been true, but now you have read this far, for you, it is no longer true.

Now that you have been set up to make your choices consciously what are you going to choose? There will never be a more important question.

So the questions for today are:

• Begin with the end in mind- What do you want your life to look like?
• Be specific. What does the answer to the first question really mean?
• In order to achieve that what do you have to become?
• In order to achieve that what do you have to learn?
• In order to achieve that what do you have to do?
• Who can teach you?
• Who can hold you accountable to your choices?
