Why Ringo is the Starr
In talking about the pulse rate and the meeting rhythms of a business I liken it to the drummer in a band. The guitarists and vocalists can often go off on some fairly long and wandering solos but they return to rhythm (hopefully) maintained by the drummer. If they didn’t the whole thing would fall apart. As Yeats once said ‘the centre cannot hold’.
I recently used that analogy with a client, whose eyes lit up as the penny dropped. He told me that he once owned a record label and a producer had told him that it was possible to survive the odd bum note or poor vocal but a band without a reliable drummer was doomed. The drummer may not be the focal point, but he or she was always the backbone of any band. I prefer this analogy to the heartbeat one. In making the art that is your business how reliable is the drumbeat? Is it holding everything together and allowing people to give of their best or is it causing the whole thing to lack cohesion?
Many successful business owners eventually hit a wall on growth and struggle to climb it alone. When you work with me you get a fresh perspective, a solid plan, and customised coaching so you can grow and scale your business safely and at speed.
