Dress Code
The world is a very different place to when I started work. A suit and tie was mandatory for anyone in a senior position. That meant that it was relatively easy to know what to wear. These days almost anything goes and that isn’t always a good thing.
For me, getting suited and booted was part of a ritual, a ritual of preparation. The more important the meeting the better the suit and tie and socks. A little bit like putting the kit on before a big match; neatly laundered and pressed, boots shining and clean.
The fact that the dress code of today is much more informal should not allow us to ignore the mental preparation of getting game ready. We may be casual in our attire but we should never be casual in our approach to the business of business and being able to consistently perform at a high level. This is a performance sport after all.
So the questions for this week are;
- What are your ‘pre game’ rituals?
- How do you ensure that you are always performing at an elite level?
- How do you prepare to deliver peak performance?
- What does that look like to you? And your team?
