The changing world of work: Episode 3 – Managing your wellbeing

I’ve met some pretty resilient people in my life.

But few are as mentally tough as Laura Ashurst.

For the past 23 years, Laura’s lived with cancer.

Just let that sink in for a second.

There can’t be many – if any – people on Earth who have lived with cancer for so long.

Sadly, Laura’s cancer is incurable. It has been for almost 17 of those years.

Yet every day, she embraces life – and she has found ways to cope in unimaginable circumstances.

That’s why she was the perfect guest to join me on my new video series to discuss managing wellbeing.

You see, wellbeing has become Laura’s lifeline.

By using mindfulness and meditation she’s developed the mental resilience needed to not just survive, but thrive.

She puts so much stock into the power of mindfulness that she’s even made it her business, running Living With Hope.

And wellbeing is a shared passion of ours.

For decades, I’ve been preaching the power of self-care. It is a key component of my coaching and has helped shape hundreds of business leaders.

Yet too many leaders still neglect it.

That was evidenced by my 2023 campaign, ‘Save the Entrepreneur’, which highlighted the hidden mental health issues so many of us secretly battle.

This year, my campaign – and this video series – focuses on the changing world of work.

Wellbeing is very much a core component of the modern workplace. Companies and managers are increasingly prioritising their staff’s wellbeing.

But my question is – are you?

Are you developing daily habits that can safeguard your mental health? What steps do you take – as a leader – to ensure that you don’t burnout?

How resilient are you?
